Add a tour
Many visitors would like to find out about the collection via a tour. In a Cilogi guide you can have as many tours as you like and its possible for an exhibit to be part of more than one tour.
In this tutorial we're going to create a small tour using the 3 stops we created earlier.
To start go to the Dashboard and load your guide. Click the Tours menu item on the left panel. You will see
To create a new tour, press the + button. This brings us to the new tour page.
Our tour id will be trail, its title The Botanics Trail. The index, which is optional, will be omitted, as we don't want to access the tour by index. We have chosen a background image of a flower, which is deliberately lightened to provide good contrast.
Here is the tour with basic details filled in.
Now we add some stops to the tour. The stops in order are: the Kibble Palace, the Weeping Ash and the Main Range of Glasshouses.
To start, press the Add Stop button at the bottom of the page. We now get a stop to be filled in. Here it is, filled in.
Let's add the other two stops. This is what we now have.
Now if you go back to the home page we can add a link to the trail on the home page. Here is a view of that
We can now publish the guide, and see that the home page now looks like this
The main page for the tour, shows the 3 stops and the light background
The linking text, which is usually best used for directions, is inserted at the top of the next tour stop. Here is the page for the middle stop, the willow.
The linking text will depend on the tour the visitor is following of course.
In the next tutorial we'll see how to create a listing, which is a flexible way of structuring information by theme or by location.
